Digital Power Supply with Profibus
Communication capability of equipment used and continuous
and transparent information flow represent an essential component to comply to future automation demands. Branson‘s answer to this challenge is the development of the „Professional Compact“ digital power supply.
Designed for the integration into complex manufacturing lines this modular power supply will be controlled and parametrised via a FieldBus (ProfiBus) serving as a Slave Module. Its open architecture permits host controlers access to all relevant status information for evaluation purposes.
Main features
- Access to all parameters and weld data
- Different Weld Modes: Time, Energy, PeakPower, Continuous Ultrasonics; Metal Contact.
- Entry of limit values such as Energy, Time, Power, Amplitude Profile
- Generation of error signals such as Overload, Timout
- Provision of weld data such as Power, Amplitude, Energy, Frequency, Weld Time
- Resonance Analysis of Acoustic Stack (Horn)
- Parameter change on the fly with each new cycle
- Parametrising of the power supply by an external control
Advantageous and benefits for the manufacturer
- Slim project engineering efforts and easy setup in the automation environment/ machine
- Largely reduced wiring efforts
- Shorter distance for signal processing
- Less space requirements for the control cabinet
- Improved overview
- Easy to accommodate adaptions for actual requirements by extensions or modifications
- More automation „on-time“ by quick exchange of power supply module (in case of failure)
