This method of welding utilises friction to create the necessary melting temperature in the join zone: One of the parts to be joined is forced to vibrate linearly and is pressed simultaneously against the other part, which is firmly fixed. Electromagnetic coils are responsible for the vibration of the vibration head and spring assemblies provide the required restoring and pressing force.
This type of welding stands out especially because a consecutive seam can be welded for large parts with appropriately large welding surfaces.
