BRANSON‘s IRAM technology for simultaneous welding in industrial series production utilises diode arrays, linked by optical glass fibres, with or without special beam forming elements (wave guides). These are integrated into an adapted standard machine with innovative PC controls (LC-100).
During welding, the entire joint zone of the workpiece is simultaneously heated by means of several diodes with contour-adapted beam delivery/guiding systems. This solution provides high laser power and makes reproducible melting and short welding cycles for semi-crystalline thermoplastics (such as PP, PBT or PA)
and fibre-reinforced materials possible.
